I’ve read that this was actually a decent car, then shortly after the company pulled out of North America. I wonder why they didn’t do well, since most people associate Japanese cars with reliability.

Suzuki’s heyday in the U.S. was when they were selling Swifts, Sidekicks and later, Vitaras. When these became outdated, rather than being replaced by Suzuki products, a fatal association with General Motors led them to be mostly selling crappy Daewoos in the U.S.. The Kizashi came too late to make a difference.
